One day

From the door to the last bell

These are the hours of a normal day. Families who leave early for work use morning care.

  1. 6:30 a. m.

    Step 1: Morning care

The door opens for families who leave early for work. Children eat breakfast, read or finish homework with an adult from the school.

  2. 8:00 a. m.

    Step 2: Prayer and welcome

We begin together with a short prayer and the day's news. A teacher greets each child at the door.

  3. 8:30 a. m.

    Step 3: Morning lessons

Reading, writing and math in each grade's room, in Spanish and English.

  4. 12:00 p. m.

    Step 4: Lunch and recess

Children eat together, then play in the yard with their teachers.

  5. 1:00 p. m.

    Step 5: Afternoon lessons

Religion, art, music and garden work, depending on the day of the week.

  6. 3:00 p. m.

Step 6: Dismissal and afternoon care

A teacher walks each child to their adult. Those who stay do homework and play until 5:30 pm.
